Bradley’s Jewellers York has been shortlisted for a trio of prestigious national jewellery awards hosted by the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) and Retail Jeweller magazine, including two ‘Best Retailer of the Year’ accolades.

The family-owned business, which is located on Low Petergate, is one of just five businesses shortlisted for the Retailer of the Year Award at the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) Awards 2022. Businesses were selected based on an application process and the shortlist was chosen by the team at the NAJ, which represents the whole of the UK jewellery sector. The winner is due to be announced at an awards ceremony on Sunday, June 12.

Elsewhere, Bradley’s Jewellers York is also in the running for two prizes at the UK Jewellery Awards 2022, which are hosted by Retail Jeweller magazine. The business is shortlisted for both Retailer of the Year (5 Stores or Fewer) and Ethical/Sustainable Jewellery Business of the Year in recognition of its successful debut laboratory-grown diamond collection, Eco Rocks York. This nationally recognised awards ceremony, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2022, will announce its winners on the evening of September 1 in London.

Owner Kay Bradley says: “We are delighted to be nominated for such a fantastic array of awards and receive such recognition for our tireless efforts. We are especially gratified to be recognised in the Ethical/Sustainable Jewellery Business of the Year category, as we have made great strides in fortifying our business for the future. For example, we have introduced Single Mine Origin (SMO) gold, launched our laboratory-grown diamond business Eco Rocks York, and I was also the first female jeweller to be named an Accredited Retailer under the SCS 007 Certified Sustainability Rated Diamond Standard by SCS Global Services.

Bradley’s Jewellers York has been on a winning streak since late last year when it secured the Independent Fine Jewellery Retailer of the Year prize at the Professional Jeweller Awards 2021. The business was also nominated for Bespoke Jewellery Retailer of the Year and Retailer of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards 2021.

Bradley adds: “We are so proud to represent York on a national stage and shine a spotlight on the great work that so many businesses are doing in our historic city. We look forward to attending both of the upcoming award ceremonies and finding out if we will have the pleasure of walking away with a trophy on the night.”
